How did you two meet?
How and where did you purpose?
He proposed on the day we were moving out of our old apartment and going into the new one. He worked with my brother, who is an artist, to make an animated video featuring some of our life moments together, and when the video ended he proposed. It was a complete surprise to me.
How did you choose the dress?
I wanted something that would compliment my body type, so when I put my final dress on and it t pretty well I thought this was it.
What did the guests comment more?
The guests loved that our wedding was a travel experience. They loved exploring Antigua, and fell in love with Guatemala!
How was your decor?
Since I’m a designer, I custom designed the invitations, save the dates, menus, everything from scratch, along with our “ae” monogram. I had the “ae” specially made as a cake topper. I wanted to keep the decor simple and elegant, adding some contemporary clean lines such as the clear beautiful vases carrying the calla lilies, contrasted with the rich textures of the Casa Santo Domingo setting.
What advice would you give to other couples?
Don’t get too bogged down with the details. If something doesn’t go 100% the way you envisioned it, just know that that’s not what you’ll remember from the day. For example it was rainy on our wedding day, and we moved the ceremony inside, but the venue was so beautiful that no matter where we had the reception it was still absolutely stunning.
Who were your favorite vendors?
I sent a photoshop picture of the cake to De La Cami and they made it just like I had envisioned it, beautifully decorated with orchid owers. Our DJ, Luis Pedro Liang, did an absolutely amazing job getting the party started, and keeping us on the dance oor for so many hours!
